House rewiring in St Kilda is a bigger decision in buildings split into flats. We assess what is behind the walls, then plan a rewire that suits the structure and the people living in it.
St Kilda 3182
The big Victorian and Edwardian houses of St Kilda were chopped into flats decades ago, often with circuits added over time and the original cable left in place. The result is a patchwork where nobody is sure which wire feeds what. If the cable is rubber or cloth insulated, it is brittle and a risk. In a divided house, each flat's wiring may pass through shared roof space or floor voids, so we look at the whole building before planning. Rewiring a single flat is possible, but it has to respect neighbours and the owners corporation. In a detached house that remains a house, we can work room by room, leave cornices alone and use the roof space. Either way, the aim is a clean set of circuits, a modern board and test results you can keep. We give a written scope before starting.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician St Kilda.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
Often, yes, but it depends on how the wiring is shared. We trace each flat's supply and cable paths. If cable crosses shared spaces, we coordinate with the owners corporation and neighbours, and explain what that means for access.
