Some of Cremorne's old cottages and former factories still hold wiring from several different eras. House rewiring here is a significant job, and we only recommend it where testing shows it's needed.
Cremorne 3121
A Victorian workers' cottage may have been altered many times. Beyond the board, the cables in the walls and ceiling can be a patchwork of old rubber, cloth and newer wiring joined together in the roof. Narrow lots mean limited access, so we work in the roof space and underfloor wherever possible, and open walls only where we have to. Converted warehouses are a different story. They carry layers of cabling from different tenants and uses, and some of it is no longer connected to anything. We inspect, test and then explain what's live, what's abandoned and what's unsafe. A rewire pairs well with a renovation, when walls are open and the builder is already on site. Heritage-protected streets call for careful handling of cornices and ceiling roses.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main house rewires page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Cremorne.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
Dead cables should be identified and made safe, and often removed. We trace each one, confirm it's isolated, and tell you what's safe to leave. If a rewire is planned, they'll come out as part of it.
