Switchboard with labelled circuits and safety switches

Switchboard upgrades
in Highett.

Old Highett homes often hide a basic fuse board beside the meter, and extension after extension makes it worse. A switchboard upgrade brings the home up to date.

Switchboards for
Highett homes.

Highett's post-war houses were wired for a few lights and a heater, and the boards were built to match. Years of adding a dishwasher, an air conditioner and a bigger oven have pushed the original to its limits. We typically find a fuse board with a couple of later breakers screwed alongside, and circuits with no safety switch. Replacing it means fitting a new switchboard with circuit breakers and RCDs, labelling each circuit properly, and testing the lot. For townhouses and apartments, the board is newer, but we often upgrade it when the owner wants a split system or an EV charger and there is no spare capacity. Where the meter room is shared, we organise access with the owners corporation. Both Bayside and Kingston homes get the same careful approach.

What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main switchboards page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Highett.

Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ

Switchboards in Highett: FAQs

Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.

Does my Highett townhouse need a new switchboard to run a split system?

Not necessarily. If the board has a free way and an RCD, we can add a circuit. If it is full or lacks modern protection, we upgrade first. We look at the board, tell you the real situation and quote only for what is needed.
