Brick walls and thick floors weaken Wi-Fi quickly, and Windsor has plenty of both. A wired data point behind the TV and another at the desk stops buffering and drop-outs. In the red-brick walk-ups, cables often cannot go inside the wall, so we use tidy trunking in colours that blend with the paint. In a cottage, we can sometimes drop cable down from above. We mount TVs on brick, plaster or stud with the right fixings and a bracket that suits the room, whether fixed or tilting. Older homes may still have one TV point in the lounge, so we add TV points and antenna connections where the screen has ended up. If you are renting, tell us before we start, since mounting and cabling may need your landlord's permission. We also label data outlets so the router connection is easy to find later.
