Red-brick walk-ups and single-fronted cottages share one problem in Windsor: too few outlets. Powerpoint installation fixes it, and we keep the mess to a minimum.

A post-war flat near Windsor station might have one outlet per wall and a power board hiding behind the TV. Our first job is to see what the unit's circuit can safely feed, since each flat gets a limited share of a small meter panel. Where there is spare capacity, we add a double powerpoint where the couch, desk or bed actually sits. Cottages along the quieter streets off Chapel Street need a different approach. Walls close to the footpath can be solid brick, and the ceiling may hold old cable we would rather not tap into. We test it before connecting anything new. USB-C outlets are worth fitting in the spots where phones live. Extra powerpoints in the kitchen save you from running leads across the bench, and an outdoor powerpoint on a small back patio is a sensible addition we install with weatherproof fittings.
