Wider streets and some off-street parking make EV charger installation in Fitzroy North more practical than in many inner suburbs. We check the board and plan a neat wall charger.
Fitzroy North 3068
Many Fitzroy North homes have a driveway or a carport, which makes a home EV charger straightforward in principle. The question that matters is the electrical side. Houses renovated with extensions and electric appliances may already be near the limit of their supply, and a charger adds a long, steady draw on top. We check the board, measure the cable run to the garage or carport wall and design a dedicated circuit with the right protection. Heritage overlays are widespread, so the charger goes where it won't spoil the street view. Townhouses and post-war flats are different again: shared car parks need the body corporate's agreement, and power often comes from a unit's own board. Most chargers can be set to charge in off-peak hours, so your car fills while you sleep. If your board needs work first, we'll say so up front.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main ev chargers page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Fitzroy North.
Good work. Happy locals.

FAQ
Can't see your question? Call Steve on 0450 347 495.
We aim for the side or rear of the carport, away from the street view, and keep the cable tidy in conduit. Heritage rules mainly concern what's visible from the street, but it's worth checking with council if you're unsure.
