A new oven is part of most Fitzroy North kitchen renovations. Our oven installation covers the wiring and testing, so the appliance sits properly beside everything else.
Fitzroy North 3068
Kitchens here often get rebuilt around a tall wall-oven stack or a freestanding cooker with a rangehood above. Both need the right connection, and the choice between them affects the wiring. A freestanding electric oven may suit an existing outlet, though it often needs upgrading to cope with the load. A wall oven is wired to a junction box inside the cabinet and needs the cabinet maker to leave clear access. Homes that were extended some time ago may have the cooker circuit shared with other things, so we test and trace it before connecting anything. If you're moving the oven to a new position, we run fresh cable from the board rather than extending the old one. We check the oven's rated load against the breaker, test the protection and confirm it's connected as the manufacturer requires. Repairs to the oven itself aren't something we do.
What the job involves, warning signs and what's included are on our main ovens page. For everything else we do locally, see electrician Fitzroy North.
Good work. Happy locals.

Extending old cable isn't a great idea, particularly if the circuit is shared or its condition is unknown. We'd normally run a new cable from the board to the new position and remove the old connection, so the new oven has a clean circuit.
