Townhouses and extensions often get a lighting plan as an afterthought. With LED downlights and lighting installation in Glen Iris done well, the new space feels as good as it looks.

Subdivided blocks along Tooronga Road and the quieter side streets have produced a lot of modern townhouses, usually with flat plasterboard ceilings and a single circuit of downlights chosen by the builder. Often they're too cold or too bright. We can swap fittings for warmer LEDs, add dimmers and put pendant lights over the island or dining table. In the older bungalows, a different approach pays off. Plaster ceilings and original ceiling roses call for light placed deliberately, with a few downlights where the roof space allows and wall lights for atmosphere. Second-storey additions give us a clean slate for lighting. We plan the circuits, switch positions and any garden lighting together, so you aren't revisiting the ceiling later when the paint is fresh.

Usually, yes. In most cases we can replace the LED fittings or the lamp section in the same cut-outs, and add a dimmer. We'll check what's installed first, since some drivers need replacing too. Warm white options usually feel much better in a lounge.
